Living Coasts

Living Coast - WhichHoliday.tv

Living Coasts based in Torquay is the UK’s only Coastal Zoo and is home to a fantastic array of marine species including South American fur seals, African penguins, macaroni penguins, stingrays, tufted puffins and puffer fish. This is an exciting, easy-to-reach educational experience in the middle of Torquay. The aquarium is arranged over many different levels, allowing visitors not only the chance to enjoy a walk-through exhibit with free-flying sea birds and free-roaming penguins, but also the opportunity to observe auks, seals and penguins under water.

Overall Living Coasts is a marine conservation centre that funds many projects abroad and is more utilitarian than other zoos, its worth bearing in mind that while they encourage visitors their main focus is on furthering their conservation work and the centre is unlike other zoos. Living Coasts is a WhichHoliday.tv Top 10 UK Attraction, so with all this in mind it is well worth a visit next time you are in Torbay
